Thursday, Jan. 8: All schools open on time, some buses on snow routes

Some buses are on snow routes today, Thursday, Jan. 8, due to road conditions. All schools are open and start at the regular time; however, bus route 2 and route 83 (Columbia Tie Road only) are on snow routes. Route 2 serves Yacolt Primary and Amboy Middle School. Route 83 serves Battle Ground High School.

Snow routes include morning pickup and end-of-day dropoff. If your snow route stop is different from your regular stop, a parent or guardian must meet a primary school student at the snow route stop at the end of the day, or the student must have a note on file with the school office to be released at the snow route stop. Without a parent or guardian present or a note, the student will be transported back to the primary school. Safety is our primary concern when making these decisions. If you feel that you cannot safely get your child to the bus or to school, you may keep your child at home. Weather-related absences are excused if they are reported to the school by a parent or guardian. Thank you and stay safe.
