Open Doors GED at SVHS
The Open Doors Re-Engagement Program through Battle Ground Public Schools provides educational services to older youth, ages 16-21, who have dropped out of school or are not expected to graduate from high school by the age of 21.
Mission Statement
The mission of Open Doors is to support disengaged students by developing positive relationships that foster education, empowerment, and a plan for employment.
Who is eligible for Battle Ground Public Schools Open Doors?
Students who are credit deficient and are motivated to earn a GED
Students who are at least 16 (but younger than 21 by Sept. 1 of the current school year)
Students who live within Battle Ground Public Schools’ boundaries

Battle Ground Public Schools Open Doors Program provides:
Flexible scheduling and learning plans
Personalized support from knowledgeable staff
Effective GED preparation using the Aztec learning platform
Personalized blend of in-person and independent work
Flexible scheduling for GED exams at Clark College or from home, provided students qualify
Access to help from the Family and Community Resource Center
Access to Battle Ground Public Schools Cascadia Tech Academy and Running Start
Extra support at the SVHS Homework Cafe tutoring center
Option to earn credit on transcript after earning qualifying scores on GED subject tests
Student Expectations
Battle Ground Public Schools Open Doors students are expected to:
Attend weekly in-person sessions for at least one hour
Work independently for 7-12 hours per week
Satisfy the Indicators of Academic Progress (IAP) every three months to show progress
